UKIVA is delighted to announce that visitor registration is now open for the 2018 Machine Vision Conference and Exhibition. The event will be held on Wednesday 16th May 2018 at Arena MK, Milton Keynes UK, and will follow a similar format to the inaugural event held in 2017.

The exhibition will be featuring more than 50 seminars across 7 different presentation theatres, supported by Keynote addresses, the Conference will provide visitors with plenty of opportunity to explore the multitude of ways that vision technology has relevance to everyday life. This comprehensive program is supported by an exhibition of the latest vision technology and services by many of the leading companies from the world of vision.

Iain Stewart MP to open the event

The event will once again be opened by Iain Stewart, MP for Milton Keynes South. Iain has represented his constituency since 2010 and is currently Chair of the following All-Party Parliamentary Groups: ‘Future of Transport’, ‘Light Rail’ and ‘Smart Cities’. Iain said: “I was delighted to be able to open UKIVA’s inaugural event in 2017, which proved to be highly successful. I understand that another exciting and educational Conference program is being prepared for the 2018 event. I am very pleased that the Association has once again chosen Milton Keynes as the venue for 2018’s Machine Vision Conference and Exhibition. I am honoured to have been asked to once again perform the opening ceremony and wish UKIVA even greater success in 2018”. His opening address will take place at 9.45 AM and will be followed by the first keynote presentation at 10.00 AM.

Everything in one place

The event has been designed to make it easy for visitors to switch between the seminar sessions and exhibition according to their own personal schedule. The layout has the presentation theatres conveniently arranged around the periphery of the exhibition space which also makes it convenient for seminar attendees to get first hand demonstrations of products that may be relevant to the talks. This format also provides excellent opportunities for networking between presenters, exhibitors and other visitors. An added bonus for visitors is free parking directly outside the exhibition hall.

Preparations well under way

Preparations for the Conference and Exhibition are progressing well. Event Organiser, Christine Valdes, said: “Just like last year, we are putting together an educational conference program which includes a wide cross-section of topics with plenty to interest newcomers to vision as well as highly experienced vision engineers and everyone in between. The program will be published on the Conference website (www.machinevisionconference.co.uk) as soon as it is finalised. To date we also have more than 30 companies registered for the exhibition and more than 50% of these are non-UKIVA members. We are also delighted to see several new exhibitors for the event”. The Association has also gained two new members as a result of the Conference and Exhibition held in 2017. One company who exhibited has gone on to become a member, while another who attended the event as a visitor has also joined. Anyone interested in exhibiting should contact Chris Valdes directly on +44 (0)20 8773 5517 or at chris.valdes@ppma.co.uk.
