LK Metrology returns to MACH as an independent UK CMM manufacturer

LK Metrology returns to MACH as an independent UK CMM manufacturer after several years as a division of Nikon Metrology. Renowned for its high quality ceramic technology Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and CAMIO software, LKs strong brand reputation in industries such as automotive, aerospace, medical and plastic moulding spans more than 50 years.

Visitors to MACH2018 will find LK Metrology located on the Nikon Metrology stand.

The LK ALTERA CMM with CAMIO multi-senor software and state-of-the-art Nikon Metrology L100 CMM laser scanner will be showcased. L100 offers the best possible combination of speed, accuracy and ease-of-use, even on shiny or multi-material surfaces. Suited for both surface and feature measurement, L100 delivers accurate data and a powerful insight, with part-to-CAD comparisons and user configurable reports.

A second LK ALTERA CMM will be demonstrated with Nikon Metrology CMM-Manager software and Renishaw 5-axis PH20 probe head. Unlike conventional touch-trigger measurement methods which rely on the speed of the CMM motion to measure quickly, the PH20’s unique ‘head touches’ allow measurement points to be taken by moving only the head, rather than the CMM structure. Measurements can be taken faster, typically a 3-fold improvement in throughput over conventional systems, and with improved accuracy and repeatability.

In partnership with Renishaw (UK) Ltd., LK Metrology will demonstrate a third LK ALTERA CMM with the 5-axis REVO multi-sensor probe system and improved surface finish measurement probe (SFP2). Using its range of 2D and 3D tactile probes, surface finish measurement and non-contact vision probes, the REVO system brings dramatic speed and accuracy benefits to part inspection on CMMs. The SFP2 system consists of a probe and a range of modules and is automatically interchangeable with all other probe options available for REVO, providing the flexibility to easily select the optimum tool to inspect a wide range of features, all on one CMM platform. Combining surface finish measurement and dimensional inspection on the CMM presents unrivalled advantages over traditional inspection methods requiring a separate process. See stand H19-430/H20-150.
