Innovative Liquid Flow Measurement

Today’s OEMs demand technologies that simplify system integration, improve hygiene, support environmental regulations and deliver long-term reliability. Responding to these requirements, Titan Enterprises’ strategic investment in research and development, demonstrates how engineering innovation can solve real-world application challenges in the food and beverage industry.

A recent example is Titan’s new Ultrasonic Beverage Meter, developed specifically for OEM beverage dispensing systems. Unlike conventional turbine-based devices, the flowmeter uses ultrasonic time-of-flight technology with no moving internal parts, creating a straight-through flow path that eliminates mechanical wear while simplifying cleaning and reducing maintenance requirements. Designed for low-flow beverage applications, the compact sensor delivers repeatable measurement performance and straightforward integration into existing dispensing equipment. Importantly, the product has been developed through extensive customer evaluation, allowing operational feedback from active installations to refine its mechanical design and electronic signal processing, augmenting its commercial release.

Collaboration is another defining element of Titan’s innovation strategy. The company’s partnership with RWC demonstrates how complementary technical expertise can accelerate product development.

Working together, the two organisations integrated Titan’s proven flow measurement technology directly into RWC’s PolarClean range for tube-in-tube beer dispensing, creating a fully integrated flowmeter assembly that reduces installation complexity while maintaining flow measurement accuracy and system reliability. The project relied heavily on rapid prototyping, stereolithography (SLA) models, iterative design reviews and customer validation, highlighting the value of collaborative engineering throughout the product development cycle.

Alongside product development, Titan is preparing for future regulatory change. As international legislation surrounding per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) continues to evolve, the company is evaluating alternative fluorine-free polymers capable of maintaining the chemical resistance, dimensional stability and mechanical durability required within its turbine flowmeters. Titan’s R&D team is investigating alternative PFAS-free materials through rigorous testing to ensure that future products continue to meet demanding industrial performance requirements without compromising reliability or measurement accuracy.

Taken together, these initiatives demonstrate that Titan’s approach to innovation extends well beyond individual products. By combining advanced sensing technologies, collaborative engineering partnerships and proactive materials research, the company continues to develop flow measurement solutions that address both today’s application challenges and tomorrow’s regulatory and operational demands.
