Goss Springs – bespoke spring manufacturer

0

Goss Springs based in Epping is run by father and son team Nick and Dan Goss. With over 65 years in both the Spring and Press industries the company is today ideally placed to offer both high volume and low volume standard and customised products.

Bespoke design and manufacturing capability

The ability to create bespoke designs to customer specification is the major strength of the business.

For many years Goss Springs have developed their capability for working to exacting customer requirements in order to differentiate their capability from the myriad of standard spring manufacturers.

The Range

Goss can design and manufacture compression springs, extension springs, torsion springs, conical springs, wire shapes, press parts and multislide components. Batch sizes will vary from very small quantities to high volume runs all of which is part of the flexible capability offered by Goss Springs.

Every car needs a sunglass holder

Here are just a couple of examples of bespoke solutions manufactured by Goss for the prestige car market where the company is often called on to provide solutions for somewhat specialised requirements.

Certain models within the Bentley range have optional sunglass holders for which Goss have designed and manufactured the tension spring which closes the glasses holder keeping them securely in place when not in use!

With the latest James Bond film very much in the public eye at the moment the interest in Bond’s preferred mode of transport has never been greater and if you are lucky enough to be driving a famous DB model consider when you are opening the door that the reassuring latching device is most likely controlled by a tension spring supplied by Goss.

Design facility

The extensive facilities based in Epping Forest consist of a Design and Engineering team with the capability to produce rapid prototypes and customised tooling for a particular design. The company encourages close co-operation with the customer in order to optimise design, life and cost of the product required.   Advice will be given at an early stage on material properties, methods of manufacture, heat treatment and surface finish in order to produce a suitably robust component at an acceptable cost.

No job too small or too large

So, if you have a requirement for a spring or pressed part that needs to meet exactly your design and envelope requirement and you cannot find exactly what you want without compromising your requirements get in touch with the team at Goss – they would love to help.
