Industry experts will be available during the Advanced Engineering Show to conduct free manufacturing competitiveness improvement assessments.

Industry Forum, the organisation set up by the UK government, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) and vehicle manufacturers to improve the competitiveness of the UK’s manufacturing supply chain, is offering free manufacturing competitiveness improvement assessments at Advanced Engineering.

The sessions, which can be booked in advance, will be held on stand R21 at Advanced Engineering, NEC on 31st October and 1st November. Booking an assessment will provide manufacturers with a clear outline of where improvements can be made across the organisation, based on a structured discussion about current processes, application and performance.

A variety of industry experts will be available to conduct the free assessment review sessions, with capabilities covering:

  • Competitive Strategy and Management Systems
  • New Product Introduction
  • Manufacturing Operations
  • Supply Chain Management

Dr. Chris Owen, chief executive of SMMT Industry Forum, said, “Our aim is to improve the performance of manufacturers, and we believe that understanding the root cause of manufacturing issues is crucial to achieving this goal. That’s why we’ve decided to offer free assessment sessions at the Advanced Engineering Show. Delegates of the show can book a slot with an expert and will receive an assessment document outlining where improvements can be made to increase their manufacturing competitive advantage.”
