Following on from the publication of the first round of technical notices, EEF has launched a dedicated Brexit hotline to offer expert advice on what businesses can expect in the event of the UK crashing out of the EU.
To help manufacturers, EEF has launched the hotline to help companies understand the implications of the technical notices. Their Brexit experts have also analysed the technical notices and published easy-to-understand summaries on the organisation’s website.
The hotline can be reached on 0808 168 5874, while the online guides cover trading in the UK if there is no Brexit deal, UK Trade Tariffs, Exporting controlled goods, Workplace rights, Erasmus+, Horizon 2020 funding, and VAT.
Commenting on the first of the technical notices Stephen Phipson, Chief Executive of EEF, said: “We welcome the increased clarity for businesses, but we also urge Government to publish the remaining notices as soon as possible so companies can have the full picture of what a no-deal scenario will mean for them.
“While it is clearly prudent that Government plans for a no-deal Brexit scenario, we remain confident that Government will secure a deal with the EU and will continue to work with ministers to help secure this.”
