The CM174 from FLIR systems saves time for electricians and improves workplace safety with Infrared Guided Measurement (IGM™)

Conrad Business Supplies added a new all-in-one thermal imaging clamp meter device from leading manufacturer FLIR Systems to its portfolio. The FLIR CM174 is the world’s first thermal imaging clamp meter. It boasts Infrared Guided Measurement (IGM™) technology that safely identifies anomalies without the user having to risk coming in direct contact with hazardous wiring. The device joins Conrad’s rapidly growing selection of nearly 200 products from FLIR.

Electricians typically spend long periods of time taking multiple measurements in a problem area, sometimes without even detecting the fault, leading to wasted man-hours and greater costs for their customers. To address this, the CM174 uses innovative IGM technology, supported by an integrated FLIR Lepton® thermal imaging sensor, to locate dangerous and unknown problem areas safely. In addition, the built-in laser and crosshairs make troubleshooting easy.

The device’s intelligent design features a narrow jaw and built-in worklights to help access difficult locations in dark and poorly lit environments. Advanced electrical features make it easy to get the readings required to solve faults and anomalies fast, including: True RMS, LoZ, VFD Mode, Inrush, and Smart Diode with Disable.

Benedikt Sehr, Product Manager, Category Business Supplies commented: “We are keen to find and stock any product that will save our customers’ time and effort. This latest thermal imaging clamp meter from FLIR is a perfect example of how the latest technology can make an electrician’s job easier, quicker and safer. It will sit amongst our growing range of test and measurement equipment from many leading brands.”
