Conferences at IMTS 2018 offer valuable insights

The IMTS conference will offer valuable insights and real-life experiences.

Educational opportunities abound beyond the show floor: the IMTS Conference and five co-located conferences enable IMTS 2018 visitors to take advantage of the unique gathering of industry experts.

“There’s no better way to get so much vetted, non-commercial insights and best practice information from credible experts, industry leaders and technical professionals, all in one building,” says Bill Herman, Director of International Exhibitions and Sponsorship for AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology, which organizes IMTS.

The IMTS Conference, jointly produced by AMT and GIE Media, features more than 72 sessions from September 11 – 14. Each session focuses on information that’s current and actionable for all manufacturers. Sessions cover current, relevant topics such as manufacturing process innovations, additive/alternative manufacturing, plant operations, automation/robotics, Industry 4.0/IIoT and quality/inspection/metrology.

“We want people to take what they learn at the conference sessions and return to their shop to implement these new techniques right away,” says Mike DiFranco, group publisher at GIE Media.

While planning for the show, set aside time to attend an educational session. “We organize the IMTS Conference into 50-minute sessions so that visitors can easily attend them without taking too much time away from the show floor,” adds Herman. “They are a unique way to network with like-minded professionals and gather information that will give your company a competitive edge.”

Herman notes that compared to the cost of traveling around the country to attend different education sessions, the IMTS Conference provides outstanding value. A one-day pass costs $275, a four-day pass is $475 and conference registration includes exhibit hall access for all six days of the show.
