BSRIA continues to expand its UKAS accredited calibration operations

The summer months of 2017 have continued to see BSRIA expand its Instrument Solutions UKAS ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration business with an extension to its scope covering activities conducted in the newly opened BSRIA North laboratory in Preston, Lancashire. This extension covers the calibration of temperature and pressure devices including barometers, as well air volume flow devices (fans) which are used in many sectors of industry.

Martin Trotter, Calibration Manager, BSRIA Instrument Solutions, said: “The opening of our second laboratory is a significant milestone for Instrument Solutions as it not only doubles our UK capacity for testing fans, pressure gauges and temperature devices used by engineers throughout the UK, it also gives BSRIA a northern base which allows clients to drop-off and collect their goods from a regional facility. Similar to the existing business located in Bracknell, Berkshire the new Preston operation holds stock of many new products from a number of the major instrument manufacturers such as Testo, Kimo and TSI”.

Attainment of the UKAS extension to scope is the second piece of quality accreditation received for BSRIA North over recent months. BSI extended BSRIA’s ISO 9001 scope to cover the Preston operations earlier in June, including the equipment hire, calibration and sales operations.
