One of the key tasks of any industrial trade association is to support and promote the engineering endeavours of its membership, and to help highlight technical advancement in all its facets.
Since its inception some 77 years ago, the BPMA has always taken this aspect of its service delivery extremely seriously, and as such is a huge advocate of business and professional excellence across the entire pump and pumping system sector. Indeed, its ‘Buy with Confidence from a BPMA Member’ ethos underpins this belief.
Its membership of Europump, the European federation of pump related trade bodies, and the important work it undertakes in relation to standards, certification and compliance issues on the world stage, coupled with its highly regarded and comprehensive programme of technical training courses, ensures that all BPMA Members can access a wealth of assistance and advice.
One activity which the BPMA prides itself on is the annual Pump Industry Awards, which has been staged every year for nearly two decades. Its raison d’etre is the same today as it was at its launch – to recognise and reward the best in pump technology, application and engineering disciplines.
This year’s Pump Industry Awards saw a record number of entries across the seven categories, which gave the Judging Panel a real challenge in determining the eventual Finalists. But they persevered, and following healthy debate and the application of a sophisticated points scoring system, the following products, companies and individuals were selected as worthy Finalists:-
